Swedish flower Hen pen # 5 features hens from CG Heartbeats Farm pen # 2 crossed with a rooster from hatched from pen # 4. I am excited to share the first pen completely made up of chickens hatched here at CG Heartbeats Farm.
CG Heartbeats Farm feels excited to annouce a black based mille fleur cockeral and pullet from this pen was awared both a first and a champion placing at the Marshall County Fair (Indiana) in exhibition class. Maddox showed this pair as a first time 4-Her in poultry.

I am excited for the pretty colors to come from this pen. The rooster has a wide stance and has proven a good leader when this group free ranged during the day last summer and fall. He often had his head tipped with an eye to the sky, keeping a look out to protect his hens. He has been gentle to be around and handle. As I mentioned above there are 6 hens in pen # 5. The fifth hen is also black based. These hens have out done themselves laying eggs this past December(2018). The most recent addition to this pen is a blue based sno leopard that hatched in the fall of 2018.
