About Music Garlic
The Music variety of garlic tastes similar to the Montana variety. Both are mild and sweeter in comparison to stronger kinds.
Price is per bulb. Music garlic produces 5 to 7 cloves in a bulb. a clove typically develops into a bulb when planted. Bulbs measure on average 1.5 to 2 inches in diameter by 1.5 inches in height.
Music keeps well into winter and is considered long storing.
The seeds produced from the flower are suitable for soups and other dishes if you choose to grow them.
I have found garlic I have grown does best when planted above a sandy sub-soil giving it a well-drained environment.
Music is considered hard neck, porcelain garlic and grows best in the north.
Garlic is harvested in July and available while supplies last.
Please Note the Following:
Garlic scapes, the top part of the stalk, generally appear in May and when removed promote larger bulbs. The scapes make a delicious pesto, top off a salad or casserole, or an addition to scrambled eggs. Choosing to leave the scapes may result in smaller bulbs. Garlic ‘seeds’ can be planted but require 2 growing seasons to produce a bulb. Planting cloves will produce a larger bulb in a shorter time frame (1 growing season: fall to mid-summer).
